DISCUSS AMONGST YOUR SHELVES: Book Titles as Band Names (Top Ten Topic)

I was watching YouTube the other day, and a channel I subscribe to shared this great topic from TOP TEN TUESDAY called BOOK TITLES AS BAND NAMES! Her video is below:

I used to do TOP 5 WEDNESDAY, but it's been quite a while! I really liked this topic because it included music and I had to give it a try! It's hard for me to participate in discussions when they are linked to a set day given my current schedule, but I still wanted to create a list. With that in mind, I give you DISCUSS AMONGST YOUR SHELVES! What a great way to talk about those books just hanging out on the shelves, waiting for someone to talk about them! Now I can get involved, but on my own time! The original post is featured on That Artsy Reader Girl who now hosts each week of TOP TEN TUESDAY.

Using book titles on my shelf, I formed bands based on various genres of music along with the style of music that I envisioned. The songs chosen are in no way a reflection of the book, but rather my interpretation of what the band would sound like if they were really making music. Enjoy! If you are interested in more information about any of the books, just click on the image.

1. 90s Punk:  The Futures by Anna Pitoniak in the style of Green Day

2. Folk Rock:  The Magicians by Lev Grossman in the style of The Lumineers

3. Hard Rock - Rage Against the Dying by Becky Masterman in the style of Five Finger Death Punch

4. Classic Rock - The Passengers by John Marrs in the style of The Eagles

5. Emo - This Darkness Mine by Mindy McGinnis in the style of My Chemical Romance

6. Rap - Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King in the style of Eminem

7. Glam Metal - Lethal White by Robert Galbraith in the style of Mötley Crüe

8. Country - Texas Rising by Stephen L. Moore in the style of Alabama

9. Pop - Lacy Eye by Jessica Treadway in the style of Lady Gaga

10. 90s Alternative Rock - Colorblind by Colby Marshall in the style of Candlebox

That was so much fun! Hope you enjoyed this jukebox of hits!

What are some bands you would create using books on your shelf! Let me know in the comments!
